Blaming Whitey
In the early ’90s, my most P.C. friend boasted about attending an anti-racism workshop. Although the event was called “Healing Racism,” I silently dubbed it “Blaming Whitey.”
As she described it, whites and blacks faced each other on opposite sides of the room. Whites guiltily told tales of being racially insensitive, and blacks berated them. Then blacks recounted stories of racism while whites bowed their heads in shame and apologized.
My friend pronounced the day as healing. I thought it sounded sadomasochistic.
I chalked it up to “only in Berkeley.” But over the years I’ve heard of more and more such happenings.
In states both blue and red, incoming college freshmen must attend social justice seminars during orientation. As though 18-year-olds don’t feel crappy enough about body fat and pimples, now they have to recoil at the color of their skin.
The targeted audiences for these blaming and shaming sessions are getting younger, which is predictable. Every cult from the Moonies to the Left recruits from the malleable young.
Even kindergartners are being groomed to be the littlest of community organizers. One of my twenty-something clients cried herself to sleep in second grade after her teacher graphically detailed the conditions of slave ships. While this lovely young person never harmed a flea, somehow she became responsible for genocide.

I never considered myself a bigot (the term “racist” is a Marxist epithet designed to divide and conquer so I will not use it), but as time goes on I see that that term applies only to whites and especially to whites who refuse to embrace racial guilt. Blacks can be as bigoted as they wish. They can have Black Chambers of Commerce, Black Caucuses in Congress, Negro Colleges, Black Miss America pageants and all the rest, but nothing can be labeled “white” except the Ku Klux Klan and the Aryan Brotherhood.
Frankly, I am tired of it especially when all of this stupid white guilt has translated not into better race relations or even better conditions in the “black community”, but the exact opposite. The result of this is, of course, MORE demands for white self-flagellation, more censorship against symbols perceived as “white” - especially Southern symbols - and more and more cow-towing to black race-mongers and poverty pimps. It is time (and long PAST time) to say, ENOUGH!
Supposedly, blacks only wanted to be treated as equals - so let’s do that! Let’s make them work instead of sitting on their backsides for generations getting welfare and demanding reparations for a system (slavery) that resulted in them being here instead of dead or in Africa. Given the choice, I would suppose that virtually all blacks who had slave ancestors would not return to Africa given the chance even WITH reparations. Let’s treat them like everyone else - INCLUDING whites. And if a white group wants to have a white organization, that should be fine since it is fine to have a BLACK organization.
If we really want to “get past” the racial divide and live as equals, the first thing that has to go is the dishonest double standard which - given over 50 years of “equal” (or more properly, PREFERENTIAL) treatment - blacks should no longer need.
I lived as a teenager in East Africa. I immersed myself in the culture, learned the language, and traveled extensively. Some of my best friends were Africans. When I moved back to the States, I underwent severe culture shock. The attitudes and behavior of the American Black were unfathomable to me. Now in recent years, the term “black” or Negro” are deemed socially unacceptable. “African American” has been substituted for any person of color or Negro background. I find this immensely ironic as the average African couldn’t stand American blacks and could be downright hostile towards them. In addition, it seems that it is the popular consensus that ALL blacks come from Africa and whites come from Europe. Hello? We all came from Africa some 250,000 years ago. Whites, Negroes, Asians, Indians, people of all races and skin color originated in Africa. I watch with bemusement American blacks strut around in some personal interpretation of African dress, African hairstyles, African decor in the home, and wildly improbable names. I listen with astonishment when all of their ills, social or otherwise, are lain at the feet of “whitey”. Answer me this. Who are the ones killing blacks at an ever-increasing rate? Who are the ones dealing the majority of the drugs consumed by blacks? Who are the ones committing the majority of the crimes in “black neighborhoods”? Is it “whitey”?
Personally, I am disgusted at the double-standard seemingly inherent in every-day interactions between blacks and whites, or blacks and Asians, or blacks and American Indians, or blacks and anybody else they target, including each other. While it is socially acceptable to say anything derogatory against peoples of another race, let someone of that other race speak in kind, and it is immedialtely labeled “racist, bigoted, hateful, evil, and demeaning”. Where is the mutual respect, equality, and racial harmony fought so hard for by giants such as Martin L. King and Rosa Parks (who was burglarized and beaten by a young black man)?
It is time, no past time, for the Negro race to grow up, accept responsibilty for their actions or inactions, behave in a socially acceptable manner, and in essence, act like members of the human race instead of the victims their so-called leaders insist that they are.
As a black preacher said his own self back in the spring, whitey is on the verg of waking up and it aint going to be pretty! People will be pushed to a limit, and the limit is fianite, and then its going to be ugly as can be imagined….and the time is right now.
