A group of white New Haven firefighters who won a discrimination case before the U.S. Supreme Court are seeking back pay, damages and legal fees.

Karen Torre, the firefighters’ attorney, filed papers last week in U.S. District Court in New Haven arguing the firefighters are entitled to back pay with interest for long-overdue promotions, several categories of damages and attorney fees.

The firefighters were subject to “the humiliation and economic hardship of prolonged career stagnancy in a rancorous atmosphere fostered by raw racial divides,” she said.

City officials said the Supreme Court ruling is limited to relief for 14 plaintiffs who would have been promoted if the 2003 tests had been certified.

Other firefighters who sued and were not promoted reserve their right to challenge the city’s position that they were not entitled to promotions but are to damages, Torre said.

Bernard Jacques, an employment attorney in Hartford, said the claims could wind up costing New Haven $1 million or more. Cities typically have insurance to cover such losses, he said.

Recently, we placed the Healthcare Reform into the pattern of the Barko elite’s war against its own people. On 20 December, one of the barking lunatics in the U.S. Congress, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) criticized those who oppose this economic sabotage of their country with these words:

“The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist.”

He also quoted from The Manchester Journal Inquirer (that’s Manchester, Connecticut), “[The Republican Party] Has Gone Crazy, Is More And More Dominated By The Lunatic Fringe And Has Poisoned Itself With Hate.”

On Christmas Eve, the U.S. Senate’s detachment of the Body Snatchers’ landing party on Earth will vote Yay on this act of destruction, taking with them their nation on what the Wall Street Journal has called a jump off a cliff with one-seventh of the economy in tow.

Meanwhile, Aryan Support Groups are active too, this season. The Internet is abuzz with this racist act of lily-white supremacism:

About the time the Senate’s Snatchers and their MSM amen chorus will be partaking of their dying host on Christmas eve, anonymous and apparently all-Aryan racist militias will be congregating in secret locations to vent their poisoned hatred in acts like this:

The liberal lie that “immigration is good for the NHS” has been exposed once again with the news that the health service is on the point of collapse as one new immigrant patient registers for its services every minute — and you pay for it.

According to a report compiled by independent think tank Migrationwatch, immigrants are registering with a GP for free healthcare at a rate of more than one every minute.

The report showed that 605,000 people who arrived from overseas registered with a doctor in England and Wales last year. This was an increase of over 50 percent in just seven years.

In its report, Migrationwatch said that this places a “significant strain” on services and could force patients to wait longer for appointments and treatment.

In addition, the invasion is further exacerbating the already critical shortage of funds in many NHS trusts — one more example of the taxpaying British people being put last.

According to the report’s conclusions, made after a study of official data provided by NHS Trusts, 536,000 of the 605,000 new registrations were migrants, while the rest are likely to have been Britons returning from overseas.

Youth for Western Civilization

This past Sunday, I went with my cousins and Oma to see Disney’s 3D animated movie A Christmas Carol and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Not only does the movie have tremendous graphics and great voice acting by Jim Carrey (who, fortunately, doesn’t attempt to make the role comedic) as Ebenezer Scrooge, it also retains the original story’s wholesome message, unshaped by modern society’s ailments.

Ebenezer Scrooge is an archetypal Objectivist, forsaking love and happiness to line his pockets. He is scornful of the needy and refuses to donate any of his money to charity or even spend an extra schilling to ensure his life-long partner’s ascension to Heaven. This movie thoroughly repudiates the sort of greedy individualism that is pervasive throughout American society. When Scrooge sees the future he is creating for himself and others because of his selfishness, he is finally able to see the light, and not only overcome his vicious ways but also find happiness. Our elites, on the other hand, have seen the future they are creating as well and have yet to change their ways.

The three ghosts Scrooge encounters are some of the most memorable characters I’ve encountered in cinema. The Ghost of Christmas Past, trapped in purgatory because of Scrooge’s stinginess, reveals the tragic story of Scrooge’s past. While some Christmas villians have no redeeming qualities whatsoever, one is truly touched by the story of Scrooge’s troubled past, while still seeing that his problems are his own doing. The Ghost of Christmas Present is probably the most unforgettable character in the film. Robust and merry, I found myself reminded of a mythical god, maybe Zeus or even Thor. The third ghost, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come is a mere shadow which leads it to be perhaps the most intriguing, as the viewer is left to his or her own imagination to decide what he is like.

What I found most surprising about the movie is its consistency with the old story and the fact that it remained untouched by modernity’s multiculti-madness. After being exposed to the horrendous movie Shrek and the “virtues” it advocated (crudeness, ugliness, commonality etc.), I figured the likelihood of Disney producing a wholesome flick would be minimal. One friend gave me his opinion on Shrek, saying that “It teaches that tolerance is the sole virtue towering above the rest. All other merits are insignificant.” After a long hiatus from Disney movies, I was quite pleased to see this flick reassert traditional values like generosity, charity, and most importantly, community.

For Democrats like Harry Reid, who called them “evil-mongers,” and Nancy Pelosi, who called them “un-American,” the NBC News poll must have hit like a sucker punch at a Georgetown wine-and-cheese.

The Tea Party movement, those folks rallying against spending last spring and Obamacare in the summer town halls, are viewed more favorably than the Democratic Party.

Forty-one percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party movement, to 35 percent for Obama’s party. Only 24 percent view Tea Party activists unfavorably, while 45 percent hold a negative view of the Democrats.

While Tea Party types played a role in the GOP’s comeback—helping take down Gov. Jon Corzine in New Jersey and turning a John McCain deficit of 6 points in the Old Dominion into a 17-point victory for Bob McDonnell—the movement is no subsidiary of the GOP. For it played a major role in routing liberal Republican “Dede” Scozzafava in New York’s 23rd and came within a point of electing a third-party conservative.

As Congressional elections are 10 months off, though primaries begin in the spring, where do Tea Party types find the battles to keep them in fighting trim? Copenhagen may have provided an answer.

While Obama came home with a nothing-burger, Hillary stole the show. Without authorization of Congress, she committed the United States to lead a campaign to transfer, beginning in 2020, $100 billion a year “to address climate change needs in developing countries.” The fund would start at $10 billion and grow by 1,000 percent in a decade.

The $100-billion-a-year global fund sprang from the fertile mind of Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

By 2020, U.S. citizens, whose nation is careening toward default, will be borrowing tens of billions more every year from China, if Beijing is still willing to lend to us, so we can ship those tens of billions off to the sump holes of the Third World.

The arrogance of power here astonishes.
