America is a benevolent Christian nation who historically has come to the aid and support of its allies and neighbors (at least until Obama and the nuts in Congress came along) ---and that is a problem for those Muslims who use their religion as a reason to practice hate --they hate our freedom, they hate our liberty, and they hate our Christian heritage and culture! This comment was said in regards to the terror attacks of 911, and Buchanan was suggesting that the 911 terrorists were primarily motivated by outrage at our political conduct, not our lifestyle. Similarly, as long as the US government continues to threaten or destroy (Arab or Persian) nations and subsidize Israeli genocide in Palestine, we Americans are going to be targeted. This Palestinian apparently doctor apparently flipped out over this. Considering the enormous and irreversible damage the US has done to his relatives, I'm not sure that I can blame him. America is deeply invested in the war industry. War is the business of killing. And our nation does it very, very well. The rift between America and the Islamic world is due to our lethal and unnecessary interference in their affairs. Just ask any Palestinian Christian, agnostic Iraqi or Iranian intellectual. They rightfully resent US aggression against their people. They despise the political double-standard enjoyed by Israel. Can you blame them? And their grievances are political, not religious. As long as the US attacks other nations without just cause, there will be reprisals of this kind. In fact, it may get far worse. People everywhere want to be free of foreign invasion.
