Border Security Victory in U.S. House Shows Lots of Democrats Don’t Want to be Associated with Party’s Open-Borders Positions

The number of Democrats voting for pro-border-enforcement went from 37 to 85.

Watching the Democratic vote Wednesday afternoon on the House floor provided many revelations –none of them reassuring to those who hope the Democratic Party has the votes to throw open our borders to more foreign workers and to reward millions of illegal aliens with amnesty.

Our side won in a procedural vote that forced H.R. 324 (the Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area Act) to guarantee full border security enforcement in the vast Arizona area. (You can read more about the threat that this act has entailed at other places on our website.)

Frankly, when the voting started late Wednesday afternoon, we assumed we would lose by 10-25 votes. Early voting suggested we were right.

I think Utah’s Rep. Bishop (who was pushing pro-enforcement amendment language) and the Republican leadership (which was backing him) primarily hoped to make a statement, not to actually win.

For the last three years the Republicans basically have been winning nothing. To win, they need 40-45 Democrats to join them if they remain nearly unanimous. Fortunately for us, Republicans voted 174-0 in our favor on Wednesday.

But with only about 20 votes (mainly Democratic) still not cast, we had a basically tied vote at around 205-205. At that point, 37 Democrats were voting YES.

It was pretty clear that we were going to lose.

Our experience is that Speaker Pelosi allows as many politically vulnerable Democrats as possible to vote with us but pressures others to either vote the other way or hold their votes until the end and then vote based on what will eek out a one-vote victory for the Speaker. So, we prepared ourselves for the Democratic vote staying just below the 40 it looked like we would need.

Suddenly just before the end of the voting, we saw that two or three Democrats who had voted NO were switching their votes to YES.

  • Then, all but three of the rest of the Republicans arrived and cast YES votes.
  • The Democratic tally went up to 40.
  • And then the dam burst, with the rest of the Democrats finally casting their votes, with most of them voting YES!
  • Many more Democrats who had voted NO earlier now saw that the amendment was going to pass anyway and switched to YES because they knew their constituents would prefer a YES.

In those final frenzied minutes of voting, the tally went from around 205-205 to 259-167.

A total of 38 Democrats changed from NO to YES.

Balancing Prosecutions – Part 2 – Rape, lies and Academia

The Duke lacrosse case was, for liberal media and the denizens of white male hating academia, the equivalent of an alien space ship crashing on Manhattan, it only ever has to happen once to prove all alien abduction stories true.

[...]

Another example of a balancing prosecution I gave was where a case relating to a crime usually associated with one racial group (non-whites) is brought against members of a different race (whites). These cases are often brought on the basis of very questionable evidence merely because the level of publicity it will generate will mitigate against similar, genuine, prosecutions against members of other races, thus producing a balancing effect. If handled skilfully enough it can even tip the balance of perception far enough so that the wider public come to believe that the second racial group (whites) are primarily guilty, of what is in truth a majority non-white crime.

The prosecutors (including the establishment, the CPS and the controlled media, who all play a part in these cases) accept that, in most cases the trials will collapse or end in acquittals, however, before that happens they will, at least, have had the effect of producing a perception in the public mind that “white people do it too”. There is also the possibility that a particularly biased, brainwashed or ethnically stacked jury will come back with a conviction, which is clearly a huge and very useful bonus, albeit not for the innocent men who have been convicted of a fake crime.

Balancing prosecutions are, in effect show trials, either by design or presentation intended to produce a false picture to the public, so as to disguise the huge problems which the psychotic importation of a plethora of alien third world cultures into a western democracy has caused.

In part two, I will focus on the second type, and on a planned show trial in America. It is a case which never actually got to court, but which stands as a frightening example of the threat faced by young white males, in societies which are intent on holding them responsible for other people’s crimes, and which view them as the single remaining legitimate target for racial hatred. It is a case which became widely known as the Duke Lacrosse Rape Hoax, and became one of the most high profile and talked about crimes which never happened in American history.

To understand why the Duke lacrosse case had the effect that it did you have to understand the context. The first thing to note is that the allegations in the Duke Lacrosse case involved gang rape. As I explained in part one, gang rape is not a crime commonly committed by white men of European origin. Certainly in Britain, it has been grudgingly acknowledged that most gang rapes are committed by exclusively non-white or mixed race gangs, in fact researchers have struggled to identify any examples of gang rapes being committed by gangs consisting exclusively of native whites.

Elsewhere in the world however, the picture is very different, in Africa for instance gang rape by the indigenous population has reached epidemic proportions. This phenomenon is not just happening in war zones. The problem has reached massive proportions in peace-time South Africa. In Johannesburg South Africa, surveillance studies of women attending medico-legal clinics following a rape found that one-third of the cases had been gang rapes.

Gang rape is also rife in many Islamic countries where it is, in fact often used as a means of punishing women.

Hundreds march in Amsterdam against banks bailout

Amsterdam Tea Party: Hundreds of people marched on the Dutch central bank in Amsterdam on Saturday to protest against the government's bailout of failing banks amid the economic crisis.

The Hague - Hundreds of people marched on the Dutch central bank in Amsterdam on Saturday to protest against the government’s bailout of failing banks amid the economic crisis.

“We symbolically besieged the bank to show our dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the crisis,” Max van Lingen, a spokesman for the Internationale Socialiste (International Socialists) lobby group told AFP.

He said some 700 people took part in the protest, with some carrying banners reading: “Let the rich pay for the crisis.”

“We don’t understand how there is money for the banks while spending cuts are in the offing for areas like education and healthcare,” he said.

“We are not happy with the government’s message that everyone must now help pay for the crisis while the bank bosses appear to be getting off scot free.”

Police put the number of protesters at 400 to 500.

Balancing Prosecutions – Part 1 – Equality in Crime

One of the various evil alliances in this country involves the three way conspiracy between the government, media and Crown Prosecution Service, who's employees are disproportionately non-white, to distort and disguise the truth about crime in this country, especially, violent and sexual crime and of course terrorism.

Earlier this week I wrote a short article commenting on the ludicrous trial of 16 year old Ross McKnight and 18 year old Matthew Swift who were accused of plotting a Columbine style massacre at their school in Manchester . This laughable prosecution, had as its basis some creative writing, where the boys had fantasised about getting back at the world, mobile phone footage of kids fooling about with firecrackers, and the fact that one of the boys possessed a gas mask.

Luckily for these two innocent young men a sensible jury took a mere 45 minutes to dismiss the patently contrived charges and acquit them. However, this was not until after both had spent six months in prison awaiting trial, where, according to their families they did not cope well, and not before the vile British news media had the opportunity to spread malicious and distorted stories of the boys, which, together with the wider nightmare they have suffered, will, no doubt follow them for years.

We do not know what effect this trial will have on their future careers, both have stated they wish to join the armed services, and expressed the hope that this trial will not effect that aspiration. Sadly, I suspect that the services will think long and hard before recruiting them, given that the media is likely to repeat the stories against them if they are ever sent into action, despite their acquittal and transparently flawed nature of the charges they faced.

One of the more frightening elements of this case was the eagerness with which the media pounced on the story, and how obviously they hoped for a guilty verdict, despite the fact that they must have known the boys were innocent. The press distorters were so desperate to see blood, I doubt that they will quickly forgive Ross and Matthew for their acquittal.

Architecture and Identity

A combination of social, cultural, political and now environmental pressures with the underlying shame of what we have achieved, has deculturalised native people leaving them estranged from Englishness, severed from all the civilizing structures that their ancestors could take for granted. A serious and sustained programme of architectural reconstruction, rebuilding our traditional buildings and re-linking to our history could help people reconnect with their roots, and feel proud of their towns and cities.

By David Morris — The collective hatred of our nation’s past by the leftist ruling elite takes practical form in their drive to erase all aspects of our culture, traditions and physical history — and is best illustrated by their physical erasure of our traditional architectural forms and its replacement with drab soviet-style ‘accommodation’.

This destruction of all forms of our national identity is engendered by a sense of shame which has been developed and perfected by the ruling elite during the course of the last century. They view all our previous cultural achievements as ‘bad’ or gained immorally at some other nation’s expense. As a result, they wish to eradicate our collective identity and deculturalise us from our roots.

A classic example was taking London Bridge to Lake Havasu, Arizona. It now crosses the Bridgewater Channel from the mainland to a small island on the Colorado River, is world-famous and draws visitors from all over the world. The bridge was sinking into the River Thames and should have been corrected but instead was sold to America. Robert P. McCulloch had the bridge dismantled and sent by barge to the California coast where it was loaded and taken by lorry to Lake Havasu and rebuilt ‘brick’ by ‘brick’. The bridge is a focal point for the city.

Near the bridge is an ‘English Village’ which pays respect to our culture. It has Tudor style architecture, and the shops and restaurants create the atmosphere of old England, with tree-lined walkways and local breweries for hand-brewed ale. There is an English pub in San Francisco — but in England they are being replaced by continental café bars!

For more than 140 years, London Bridge served as a crossing over the River Thames. It survived both world wars and a terrorist attack in 1884. If an American entrepreneur could do all that, then why could London council not conserve it? Because Americans have more respect for our traditions than our local authorities. American tourists constantly ask locals, “Why are you ruining your culture?” We are not — local authorities are imposing this on us.

Who Killed California?

We will learn over the next decade whether California can manage to avoid disaster one more time. But even if the state's years of living large finally catch up with it, there is still an escape hatch: Sensible Californians can continue to flee to places like Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, and Texas, where the respite from hostile government more than compensates for the social opprobrium that tends to meet California expatriates.

fg

The story of California has always been a great American tale of triumph over long odds. Since its entry into the Union, in the aftermath of war and the midst of gold fever, the state has seemed an improbable colossus. But again and again, California has made its way through hours of challenge – not only surviving intact, but emerging as a model for the rest of the nation.

In the 19th century, despite immense geographic, ethnic, political, and social differences, Californians managed to form a cohesive identity, resisting numerous efforts to divide the state. They overcame the “curse of natural resources” that so long afflicted other commodity-rich states (and still afflicts some, like Alaska), laying the groundwork for a thriving and diverse economy that now dwarfs those of many developed countries. In the 20th century, through one of the greatest feats of engineering in human history, they turned the semi-arid desolation of southern California into a booming megalopolis and home to the second-largest metropolitan area in America. California ranked 20th among the states in population in 1900, but by 1963 it was first, where it has remained.

And through a series of social, political, and economic experiments, California has acted as America’s foremost laboratory of innovation, trying out ideas the country as a whole would go on to adopt. In the 1960s under Governor Pat Brown, the state offered a model of modernization, building the most advanced education and transportation infrastructures in the nation. Under Brown’s successor, Ronald Reagan, it offered a model of conservative governance that would go on to transform American politics. Hollywood has made California a crucial part of America’s cultural identity, and Silicon Valley has put it at the heart of our vision of the future. For many decades now, Americans have seen California as a harbinger of promising things to come.

Today, however, California has become a warning sign. Beset by economic disaster and political paralysis, the state is in the midst of a systemic crisis. And while the meltdown has certainly been accelerated by the recession of the past two years, its causes involve two decades of poor judgment, reckless mismanagement, and irresponsibility. How California got into this mess has a lot to teach the rest of the country; how it gets out will say a great deal about America’s prospects.

Belgian No-Go Areas – Coming to a Town Near You?

Socialists throughout Europe have in the past “courted immigrants ” for their vote, but I foresee it will come at a price they may find hard to swallow, I mean the takeover of Europe by Islam aided and abetted by those Socialist Leaders who have done the groundwork by forcing through the Treaty of Lisbon.

For years now, there are certain Brussels’ areas which police officers try to avoid as much as possible. In these so-called ‘no go zones’, immigrant gangs are in charge and randomly attack police officers, firemen, paramedics and anyone who they think does not belong there. Numerous police officers have already testified anonymously in the press about this unbearable situation. The picture to the right features a Belgian police officer being beaten by Muslims for daring to attempt on arrest within an Islamified suburb.

“These youngsters think they rule the streets. Belgian people are leaving these areas, because they are being terrorised. Police officers are not welcome at all. The youngsters become outrageous when they see someone wearing a police uniform”, an officer said in a Flemish magazine last year. The reason why they only want to testify anonymously, is because they experience a lot of opposition from the leading political parties in Brussels, who do not want to lose their electoral public, that largely consists of immigrants. They even prohibit police officers to patrol in certain areas, because police presence can be considered “provocative”.

In some areas of the UK , we have similar areas, seemingly ruled by immigrants, where English Law is flouted on an almost daily basis, certain Immans and Community leaders seem to think they and their followers are above the law and openly call for Sharia law to take precedence over English Law. Islamic ghettos are known by Muslims as ‘Dar al Islam’ or ‘Abode of Islam’, literally Muslim land.

Ms. Pelosi Misremembers the 70s

For anyone who knows San Francisco history, Pelosi’s verklempt reminisce suggests too much time on the bong, the early stages of Alzheimer’s, or the chronic dissembling we have come to expect from our Democratic friends.

Leftist politicians glide through their careers as though there were no Internet, no YouTube, no newspaper archives, no history books, no one worth knowing who does not agree with them.

Protected as they are by the media, they feel free to ignore the past as it happened and reconstruct it as it suits the purpose of the moment.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave remarkable witness to this willful amnesia with her hysterical—in both senses of the word—re-imagining of San Francisco in the seventies.

“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw, I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco,” said a tearful Pelosi last Friday.

“This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we (sic), violence took place.”

Pelosi was implying that the 1978 murder of Harvey Milk, the gay San Francisco supervisor, was spawned by the kind of right wing rhetoric one hears at Tea Parties and the like.

In reality, Milk’s murder had nothing to do with anything right wing. Indeed, left wing violence of all sorts, the worst of it abetted by the Democratic establishment, terrorized the Bay Area from one end of the decade to the other

For starters, Milk’s killer was a Democrat, former supervisor Dan White. In November 1978, the emotionally troubled White abruptly resigned from the Board of Supervisors.

On Milk’s advice, Mayor George Moscone refused to reinstate White when he petitioned to get back on. White snapped. He shot and killed them both and promptly turned himself in. This was no historic moment. This was routine work place violence prompted by Milk’s double dealing.

After an absurdly lenient verdict—only in psycho San Francisco would the “Twinkie” defense have worked–the anti-death penalty coalition organized a protest march. It quickly went south on them.

How far south? How about thousands of angry gay men marching down Market Street chanting “Kill Dan White” south—pretty rough rhetoric in anyone’s book.

When the marchers reached City Hall, they broke windows, burned police cars, and injured 61 cops. Our gay friends called their May 1979 escapade the “White Night Riot”—a cold-blooded pun on the recent Jonestown carnage.

Speaking of Jonestown, the atheist “religious leader” Jim Jones was the toast of liberal San Francisco throughout the 1970s. All the leading Democrats–George Moscone, Harvey Milk, Willie Brown, Jerry Brown–came a courting.

“In my later years,” Jones reflected near the end, “there wasn’t a person that attended any of my meetings that did not hear me say, at one time, that I was a communist.”

In the People’s Republic of San Francisco that fact bothered no Democrat of consequence. A guy who could inspire suicide could certainly deliver votes and volunteers.
