It's ironic that a discovery of the pill which was promoted as something to lead to greater personal freedom, being free of nature's laws, would lead to alot of unhappiness and many social problems. it's hard to measure the amount of unhappiness caused. Probably more pain and societal loss than happiness.

I personally would like to see the social engineers pay the cost or at least pay a price for what they have done.

I don't know about the findings of this study, but I do know the pill has a lot of nasty side effects and that women who care about their health (or their daughters' health, since a lot of women start taking it as teenagers at the behest of their mothers) should avoid taking it. Women who have used the pill for years who decide to go off it often go through "withdrawal symptoms," such as chronic yeast infections. As with so many things in life, you don't get something for nothing.

This rings very true from my experience. In both of my serious relationships, my girlfiends somehow changed after going on the pill. In both cases it lead to the death of that connection between us, I just aattributed it to simply "falling out of love" but i always thought I noticed a similar change after they went on the pill. My fiancee ended up leaving me, marrying another man within two years and six years later called me to tell me her life went wrong and she wasnt happy despite having a nice home, upper class lifestyle and two children. I always felt like I lost herb to an outside power and influence, now i see that the hormonal changes from the pill played at leasta a small role.
