«Young Immigrants Largest Threat to Society»

Finally, Torsten Hesselbjerg thinks that the largest challenge for the Danish police next week will be to prevent young migrants from setting fire to the streets in Denmark again during the Easter school holidays

The children of immigrants are the largest threat to Danish society, says Torsten Hesselbjerg, head of the Danish police, in an interview with the morning newspaper Jyllands-Posten . They are responsible for the heaviest forms of crime, drugs dealing, but for them, honor, prestige and power are parts of the game too.

Torsten Hesselbjerg has been the head of the Danish police since 2000, as the so-called rigspolitichef. In an interview with the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten Saturday morning he says that a list of 141 names forms the largest challenge for the Danish police right now, but young migrants worry him the most as he sees them as the largest threat to order and rest in society.

These young migrants commit all sorts of heavy crime, but focus particularly on drugs. However, for these people, concepts like honor, prestige and power are part of the game too. Right now, Danish police tracks fourteen criminal organizations with a total of 141 members at «level 1», a term the Danish police uses for the most influential and active criminals in the underworld of organized crime. According to a police report, these criminals have access to weapons and explosives, and are prepared to use both of them in their struggle to keep control over the drugs market and to maintain their own version of honor.

Illegal Immigration…

Frank Borelli, Editor-in-Chief of Officer.com

With this entry I decided to tackle a problem that has no easy solution: illegal immigration. Now before you good readers get your dander up, please understand a few things: first, this is all my opinion (unless I cite facts and references); second, we all have different opinions; third, we aren’t all ever going to agree about everything. With all that said, let’s take a look at a few statistics I was provided via email and let me share some of my outlook with regard to them.

Let me specify this up front: I haven’t confirmed or qualified any of the numbers quoted in the article I received via email. Taking them “on faith” - even if they aren’t accurate - I’ve made comments about each. The comments would still apply even if the numbers were reduced by fully 50%.

First number: approximately 20 million illegal immigrants in the United States. I had once read the number was closer to 30 million, or 1-in-10 since we’ve got more than 300 million people living in the United States now. Hmm… 20 million OR 30 million. Let me see what I can find to compare that to in an effort to put it into some type of perspective.

White working-class boys ‘consigned to educational scrapheap by Labour and liberal establishment’

"Liberal-minded people and the media ceased to highlight the particular problems of this group for fear of lending weight to the arguments of the National Front and BNP. "

White working-class boys are being consigned to the educational scrapheap because politically-correct ministers and officials are ignoring their poor performance, members of the ATL claimed yesterday.

They said boys from low-income homes do significantly worse in exams than any other group of pupils but their plight is being “overlooked” by Labour and the liberal establishment.

Initiatives to tackle under-achievement often centre on improving the performance of ethnic minorities, said London-based member John Puckrin.

Fears of playing into the hands of the National Front and BNP are fuelling a widespread reluctance to speak up for the plight of the white working-classes, he claimed.

Figures showed recently that only 15 per cent of white boys qualifying for free school meals leave school having mastered the three Rs. For black boys from similar backgrounds, the figure is 22 per cent while for Asians it is 29 per cent and Chinese 52 per cent

Racial tensions warning over jobs

Stating the Obvious in Ireland

Racial tensions could increase in the Republic as the economy slows down and Irish people compete for jobs with foreign nationals, experts have warned.

New integration measures were unveiled for Intercultural and Anti-Racism Week which starts on April 7.

National Action Plan Against Racism official Lucy Gaffney said: “More people - whether of Irish or non-Irish birth - will become vulnerable as the economy shrinks and competition for jobs grows.”

Small ND campus turns international

"There has got to be a better way of introducing them instead of just dumping them here—diversity is not dumping 150 Chinese students on campus in just one or two semesters."

DICKINSON, N.D.—The snack bar at Dickinson State University, in one of the least diverse states in the country, is a melting pot. International students from Armenia to Zimbabwe speak their native languages as they contemplate such American fare as fried chicken warmed under a heat lamp.
For about a decade, the southwestern North Dakota school has been trolling globally to boost enrollment, and the number of international students has helped Dickinson State set an enrollment record of 2,462 students last fall.

But some Dickinson State students say the record hasn’t come easy, and complain about diversity overload.

“Diversity is a good idea in theory, but right now it’s not working out,” said Jami Arnold, a sixth-year senior and former Dickinson State student body president.

Arnold is one of about a dozen students publicly criticizing the university’s Global Awareness Initiative, which recruits international students and faculty and makes scholarships available to qualified students.

Federal Judge Dismisses Challenge to Michigan’s Ban on Affirmative Action

“Fairness and equality are now unequivocally Michigan law,” said Jennifer Gratz, who was the chief plaintiff in one of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court cases that challenged race-based admissions at the University of Michigan

A federal judge ruled today that Michigan’s voter-approved ban on the use of affirmative-action preferences by public colleges and other state agencies is constitutional.

In doing so, Judge David M. Lawson of the U.S. District Court in Detroit dismissed a lawsuit brought by opponents of the law, which is known as Proposal 2, or the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative. Voters approved the measure in 2006. The opponents include high-school and college students who say they were harmed by it.

A lawyer for those plaintiffs told the Detroit Free Press that he planned to file an appeal immediately.

On immigration, figures lie and liars figure

Sometimes figures lie

Do illegal immigrants commit more than their share of crimes?

According to a recent study that’s been in the news, the answer is no. But if you look at crime statistics in Orange County, the answer can just as easily be yes.

For the sake of argument, let’s dispense with the fact that every illegal immigrant in this country is, by definition, violating the law. Let’s also set aside the fact that millions of illegal immigrants use fraudulent Social Security numbers to get work, which is also a crime. Instead, let’s concentrate on crimes committed by U.S. citizens or legal residents and illegal immigrants alike – everything from murder to DUI to shoplifting.

The study mentioned above was published by the liberal Public Policy Institute of California. One of its seemingly startling conclusions is that U.S.-born men are statistically more than twice as likely to be incarcerated in prison as “foreign-born men” are – thus “proving” that immigrants are actually more law-abiding than non-immigrant U.S. citizens.

And that may be true when you’re talking about “immigrants” in general, a vast population that includes everyone from World War II British war brides to Chinese-born math professors to illegal immigrant farm workers.

But the problem with the study – a problem that’s common among pro-illegal immigration activists – is that it made no distinction between legal “foreign-born” residents and illegal immigrants. No one I know has ever suggested rounding up legal foreign-born citizens and residents and deporting them. The issue is people who are in this country illegally.

White Male Vote Especially Critical

An examination of exit polls in Wisconsin and Ohio, states with striking similarities, shows that many more working-class white men in Ohio said race was a factor in their vote

In the fierce campaign between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, a battle dominated by questions of race and gender, white men have emerged as perhaps the single critical swing constituency.

The competition for the support of white men, particularly those defined as working class, will shape the showdown between Clinton and Obama in Pennsylvania’s Democratic presidential primary on April 22. Obama (Ill.) won majorities among those voters in what appeared to be breakthrough victories in Wisconsin and Virginia last month. But he badly lost working-class white men to Clinton (N.Y.) in Ohio and Texas two weeks ago, keeping the outcome of the Democratic race in doubt indefinitely.

The results in Ohio in particular raised questions about whether Obama can attract support from this crucial demographic. They also brought to the forefront the question of whether racial prejudice would be a barrier to his candidacy in some of the major industrial battlegrounds in the general election if he becomes the Democratic nominee.

STATEMENT OF GOVERNOR HALEY BARBOUR ON SENATE BILL 2988

"Any employer who knowingly hires an illegal alien should be held accountable." Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour

STATEMENT OF GOVERNOR HALEY BARBOUR ON SENATE BILL 2988

“Today, I have signed into law SB 2988, a bill designed to discourage illegal immigration in Mississippi by creating new penalties for hiring illegal immigrants. I appreciate the efforts of Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant and others in the House and Senate who have worked so hard on this issue.

Any employer who knowingly hires an illegal alien should be held accountable, and that is the goal of SB 2988. While I have signed this legislation into law, I have serious concerns about specific provisions of the bill that could have unintended negative consequences. I urge the Legislature to make the necessary technical changes to ensure this bill will have the intended effect.

Senate Bill 2988 mandates that employers utilize the federal E-Verify program administered by the Department of Homeland Security. I am concerned about mandating the E-Verify system as the sole source from which an employer in Mississippi can verify a potential employee’s eligibility, especially since the federal government itself has said E-Verify is not a reliable system. According to a 2006 Report prepared for the United States Department of Homeland Security: “The accuracy of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) database used for verification has improved substantially since the start of the Basic Pilot program. However, further improvements are needed, especially if the Web Basic Pilot becomes a mandated national program – improvements that USCIS personnel report are currently underway. Most importantly, the database used for verification is still not sufficiently up to date to meet the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) requirements for accurate verification, especially for naturalized citizens. USCIS accommodates this problem by providing for manual review that is time consuming and can lead to discrimination against work-authorized foreign-born persons during the period that the verification is ongoing, especially naturalized citizens.” Mississippi’s economy is growing; we have record employment. We don’t want American citizens or others legally here to lose jobs because the verification system is technologically flawed. I urge the Legislature to add other reliable verification systems beyond E-Verify to confirm the hiring eligibility of potential employees.

Self-proclaimed racialist Jared Taylor speaks against diversity

“The diversity industry is built on sand. $8 billion a year is spent on diversity training in businesses; if diversity were a great strength, why would diversity management be necessary?”

Jared Taylor, the editor of race issues journal American Renaissance, lectured Thursday night on the weaknesses of American diversity. Taylor was invited to campus by John Kennedy ’08 in what some believe was a response to the Sex Workers’ Art Show.

“It is practically the state religion to assume race is a great strength. Some would tell you it is America’s greatest strength,” Taylor began his speech, “but they seldom have concrete examples.”

He argued that there were numbers of obvious disadvantages, claiming that everyone from American founders John Jay and Thomas Jefferson to British author George Orwell had realized the true weakness of racial diversification.

Taylor’s speech was peppered with historical examples and scientific studies that all point to humanity’s biological predispositions to xenophobia and consequences such as “the other race effect.” He explained this as a human tendency to remember faces of people from their own race better than those of other races as a result of the functioning of the brain.

Among the studies he cited was one by Robert Putnam of Harvard University, which examined 41 different communities in the United States and concluded that communities with greater diversity were less likely to carpool.

“Carpooling is based on trust — you have to trust that your fellow is going to be there,” Taylor said. “People in these communities were less likely to participate in community events.”
