The BBC is to risk controversy with a season of programmes about a white working class “under siege”.

It will include a “provocative” drama about a white girl who moves into a Muslim-dominated community and starts wearing the hijab.

Documentaries will include Last Orders, about an “embattled” working men’s club in Bradford, and All White in Barking, exploring prejudices in the multi-cultural East London community.

It features lifelong Barking residents Susan and Jeff, who have never even said hello to their Nigerian neighbours because “they are not our people”.

Another is so incensed by the influx of black and Asian faces that he becomes a BNP activist, but both his daughters are in relationships with non-whites.

Elsewhere, Rivers Of Blood assesses the impact of Enoch Powell’s infamous speech, while The Poles Are Coming takes a “subversive” look at the reality of immigration in Middle England, with leaders from Gdansk travelling to Peterborough to plead with their countrymen to return home.

For months, parents on a Los Angeles Unified School District advisory council have disagreed over whether their meetings should be conducted in Spanish or English. Such arguments became so abusive that district officials canceled meetings for two months and brought in dispute-resolution specialists and mental-health counselors.

But Friday morning’s gathering of the District Advisory Council proved dysfunctional in any language.

By one vote, parents censured their own chairman for alleged bad behavior, leading to a walkout of most Spanish-speakers. The rebuked chairman, Roberto Fonseca, followed them out of the room. Most voting for the censure were African American, adding racial overtones to the back-and-forth hectoring.

Friday’s dispute, at the district’s downtown Parent Community Services Branch, was the latest in a year of acrimony at the council, which was elected by parents at schools throughout the district. They offer advice on — and oversight of — the expenditure of $385 million on federally funded programs for students from poor families.

The goings-on raise another round of questions about parent participation in the nation’s second-largest school system, which has been repeatedly criticized by auditors for inconsistent and ineffective parent involvement and outreach. Critics say the district rarely seeks true parental input and instead uses parents to rubber-stamp budgets and programs. District officials insist they are determined to change this perception and are making progress.

WICHITA, Kan. –Republican and Democratic lawmakers in Kansas are drafting separate bills targeting illegal immigration amid fears about a potential influx of illegal immigrants from neighboring states that have already started cracking down.

Across the nation, at least 127 cities and states have passed or are considering local laws aimed at curbing illegal immigration, according to a database compiled by the Fair Immigration Reform Movement, a project of the Center for Community Change, an immigrant advocacy group based in Washington, D.C.

In Kansas, some people are concerned that illegal immigrants may move here from the neighboring states of Oklahoma, Colorado and Missouri, which have passed laws or instituted policies aimed at illegal immigration.

“I don’t believe Kansas should become a sanctuary state as other states continue to pass legislation,” said Rep. Brenda Landwehr, R-Wichita.

If the federal government is not going to solve the illegal immigration problem, she said, then states have to step in.

Her proposal, which is still being drafted, is based on laws in Oklahoma, Arizona and Colorado, Landwehr said. It would revoke business licenses and impose civil penalties on any Kansas business found to have employed an illegal immigrant, enforce federal law denying public benefits to illegal immigrants and strengthen local enforcement efforts.

I had written much of this essay more than a year before I finally decided to post it online. A couple of personal experiences brought me onto the subject of non-white racism. I hesitated to post it, mainly because I instinctively dislike writing about anything related to race. I was brought up that way. Partly, I also convinced myself that I was first and foremost against Islam, and that writing about skin color would only complicate this fight.

However, after thinking about it for some time, I find that none of these arguments hold true. I am tired of ideological censorship. Western nations can never mount a defense against Muslim immigration if this is always dismissed as “racism.” But above all, if you believe that non-white racism exists, it is actually immoral not to deal with the problem and its victims. I am convinced that not just non-white, but also anti-white racism, are real and underestimated phenomena.

In London, an elderly driver who had a heart attack careered into a bus. Here you had a dying man, people trying to save him and police trying to clear the scene. Meanwhile, black youths at the scene just wanted to fight the cops. They shouted, ‘Who cares — it’s just a white man’.”

California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell has figured out a way to aid students of whatever race to come closer to fulfilling their potential.

He is denouncing white public school teachers as bigots.

According to O’Connell, white teachers contribute to the racial gap in educational achievement by imposing excessively strict discipline.

The Superintendent’s bizarre statements illustrate why VDARE.COM chose to be one of the few publications to defend the great geneticist James Watson: when the truth is denounced as unthinkable, madness results.

And people get hurt.

Jared Taylor did an excellent job in VDARE.com on Tuesday, Nov. 13 of analyzing O’Connell’s bullying “Achievement Gap Summit” held last week for 4,000 attendees in Sacramento. But this episode is so illustrative of the pervasive dysfunctionality that Political Correctness inflicts upon modern America that it’s worth exploring further.

Last month, James Watson, the legendary biologist, was condemned and forced into retirement after claiming that African intelligence wasn’t “the same as ours.” “Racist, vicious and unsupported by science,” said the Federation of American Scientists. “Utterly unsupported by scientific evidence,” declared the U.S. government’s supervisor of genetic research. The New York Times told readers that when Watson implied “that black Africans are less intelligent than whites, he hadn’t a scientific leg to stand on.”

I wish these assurances were true. They aren’t. Tests do show an IQ deficit, not just for Africans relative to Europeans, but for Europeans relative to Asians. Economic and cultural theories have failed to explain most of the pattern, and there’s strong preliminary evidence that part of it is genetic. It’s time to prepare for the possibility that equality of intelligence, in the sense of racial averages on tests, will turn out not to be true.

If this suggestion makes you angry—if you find the idea of genetic racial advantages outrageous, socially corrosive, and unthinkable—you’re not the first to feel that way. Many Christians are going through a similar struggle over evolution. Their faith in human dignity rests on a literal belief in Genesis. To them, evolution isn’t just another fact; it’s a threat to their whole value system. As William Jennings Bryan put it during the Scopes trial, evolution meant elevating “supposedly superior intellects,” “eliminating the weak,” “paralyzing the hope of reform,” jeopardizing “the doctrine of brotherhood,” and undermining “the sympathetic activities of a civilized society.”

Over the past few weeks there have been a number of commentaries about Ronald Reagan’s legacy, specifically about whether he exploited the white backlash against the civil rights movement.

The controversy unfortunately obscures the larger point, which should be undeniable: the central role of this backlash in the rise of the modern conservative movement.

The centrality of race — and, in particular, of the switch of Southern whites from overwhelming support of Democrats to overwhelming support of Republicans — is obvious from voting data.

For example, everyone knows that white men have turned away from the Democrats over God, guns, national security and so on. But what everyone knows isn’t true once you exclude the South from the picture. As the political scientist Larry Bartels points out, in the 1952 presidential election 40 percent of non-Southern white men voted Democratic; in 2004, that figure was virtually unchanged, at 39 percent.

More than 40 years have passed since the Voting Rights Act, which Reagan described in 1980 as “humiliating to the South.” Yet Southern white voting behavior remains distinctive. Democrats decisively won the popular vote in last year’s House elections, but Southern whites voted Republican by almost two to one.

San Francisco is the first city in the country to find the money and political will to attempt to provide universal health care for its residents, but leaders of the new plan say its success hinges on a notion rarely discussed in the health care debates raging at the state and national levels: cultural competency.

Rather than treating patients using just raw data such as blood pressure levels and cholesterol counts, medical professionals also are taking into account patients’ race, gender, age, sexual orientation, native language and other demographics in marketing the plan and providing the best medical care once they enroll.

In a city of distinct neighborhoods often populated by particular racial or ethnic groups, thousands of immigrants speaking more than 100 languages and a significant population of gays and lesbians, those behind the new plan, dubbed Healthy San Francisco, believe it will succeed or fail largely on how well cultural competency is practiced.

NORFOLK

The owners of a Newport News commercial fishing company have been charged with employing more than 100 illegal immigrants over the past four years.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a court filing Thursday that it is seeking nearly $7 million in penalties from the Peabody Corp., which operates eight trawlers used mostly for scalloping.

According to federal charges, company president William F. Peabody and vice president Yvonne M. Peabody knowingly employed 126 undocumented workers and disregarded warnings about the illegal activity from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Internal Revenue Service.

Company employees “counseled” the illegal workers on how to obtain fake employment papers that looked real, according to the charging documents.

The Peabodys have agreed to plead guilty, according to the records. They had been scheduled to appear Monday in U.S. District Court, but that was postponed.

The black-clad masked intruder, who preys on the elderly, is responsible for four rapes and 31 indecent assaults stretching back 16 years.

In the latest incident, a man broke into an elderly woman’s home in Thornton Heath, South East London – the heart of the area the Night Stalker prowled. Even though she was not sexually assaulted, cops believe he is responsible.

She was his 99th victim. Of the others, 88 were women and ten men – one of whom was sexually assaulted.

A source said detectives from Operation Minstead, hunting the Night Stalker, were treating the case “very seriously”. The source added: “It’s like he is taunting us that he hasn’t gone away.”

The road where the raid happened was being searched and the victim questioned gently.

The Night Stalker is described as being a light-skinned black man with a South London accent, 5ft 10in with an athletic build.
