What Really Happened in Jena
Everyone in America has now heard of Jena, Louisiana, and its alleged racial abominations. Its crimes are said to be so great that on Sept. 20, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton had to lead a massive “civil rights” march through the sleepy town of 3,000 to drag it into the modern era. Young blacks from all over the country took part, many comparing the demonstration to events in Selma or Birmingham half a century ago.
It takes some digging to find out what actually happened in Jena, but we are not witnessing a return to Jim Crow. Although blacks have treated LaSalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters like a reincarnation of Bull Connor, the more closely his actions are examined the more reasonable they seem. These events have become a rallying cry for “civil rights” for only one reason: The national media have shamelessly warped them to fit the pattern of unregenerate Southern bigotry. Here is what actually happened.
The Nooses
On August 30, 2006, there was a back-to-school assembly for boys only at Jena High School. An assistant principal covered rules, dress codes, etc., and called for questions. One black asked a question that was clearly a joke: Could blacks sit with whites under a particular shade tree in the school’s courtyard. Everyone in the room laughed. The assistant principal answered that, of course, anyone could sit wherever he liked. There were a number of other questions—some funny, some serious—and the assembly broke up in good spirits.
National commentators have assumed whites had been keeping blacks away from the tree, but no one in Jena says this. There are places where whites often sit and places where blacks often sit, but there are no rigidly enforced boundaries. The question would not have gotten a big laugh if there had been tension about who could sit under the tree.

Ethnic pride on display at festival
Tapping their feet to the Irish tunes of County Mayo, Paul Sipos, of Blooming Valley, and his wife, Robin, were getting into the festive spirit. It was time to celebrate different cultures and join thousands of people taking in a variety of food, music, rides and crafts at Meadville’s first annual Ethnic Festival.
And Sipos’ ethnic pride was quite evident. In fact, it was printed right on him. Sipos proudly wore a T-shirt displaying his Hungarian background that included the country’s flag and list of traditional foods and drinks, including goulash, a spicy soup, and Tokay, a type of Hungarian wine. It was just one way for Sipos to share part of his family history.
“My father was Hungarian and my mother was French and Irish,” Sipos said. “This is truly the melting pot of Amer-ica. It (the festival) just makes us one. It shows that America is made of all kinds of ethnic groups.”
And with several ethnic foods to choose from, Sipos couldn’t pick just one. From Polish pierogies to Greek gyros and Italian sausage, Sipos and his wife sampled a variety of what Meadville’s businesses had to offer.
They were among approximately 5,000 people gathered in downtown Meadville visiting friends and family and sharing in their traditions of various ethnic backgrounds. Festival co-chairman Nancy Manning was pleased with the turnout and is expecting thousands more today, as the second day of the festival kicks off at 10 a.m. with several bands and entertainment.

Youth Group Praised for Turning Over Illegal Workers
The Federal Migration Service on Monday lauded members of a nationalist youth group for rounding up dozens of illegal foreign workers and turning them over to authorities.
Migration service chief Konstantin Romodanovsky told reporters that Mestniye members “really helped” the agency in detaining 72 people attempting to obtain work illegally, Interfax reported.
Romodanovsky did not elaborate on the nature of Mestniye’s assistance, but the youth group’s spokesman, Andrei Groznetsky, said activists used subterfuge to blow the whistle on the workers.
In a daylong operation Saturday, Mestniye activists pulled up in cars to a market near Yaroslavskoye Shosse in northeast Moscow where migrant workers typically wait for temporary manual labor jobs.
“It’s no secret that they hide in groups next to the building materials store near the market looking for work,” Groznetsky said.
The driver, posing as a businessman in search of cheap labor to renovate his dacha, would call over three or four foreigners standing nearby and offer them 1,000 rubles each for four hours of work, Groznetsky said.
But instead of taking them to the dacha, the driver would then drop the workers off at a nearby migration service office to have their documents checked, he said.
French riot police battle the migrants queueing to get into Britain
Riot police are patrolling French ports to combat the increasing violence caused by illegal immigrants bound for Britain.
The authorities in Calais, Cherbourg and Dunkirk have complained they are increasingly powerless to cope with the growing numbers congregating in makeshift camps.
Bernard Cazeneuve, Calais’s mayor, said these camps “generate violence” and “create a situation which we are not able to control”.
He called for proper facilities to be provided for migrants, raising the spectre of a second Sangatte.
The notorious Red Cross centre, close to the entrance of the Channel Tunnel near Calais, attracted thousands of immigrants before it was closed in 2002.
However, the French president has pledged that another Sangatte will not be built.

AT LAST.. EVEN THE BBC AGREES WE MUST DEBATE THE PERILS OF IMMIGRATION
Norman Lamont’s Commons declaration that John Major was “in office but not in power” was one, crystallising a growing certainty that Labour would be returning to government at the subsequent election.
Wednesday night saw another. The BBC’s flagship programme Newsnight carried a major report on the warning from Cambridgeshire Chief Constable Julie Spence about the strains immigration is placing upon her county.
Afterwards Jeremy Paxman chaired a live studio debate between Immigration Minister Liam Byrne, Sir Andrew Green, head of the immigration-sceptic think tank MigrationWatch, and Nick Clegg, the Lib Dem home affairs spokesman.
Previously the debate would have gone as follows: Newsnight anchorman frequently interrupts Sir Andrew, then allows Labour and Lib Dem to imply he is a Right-wing bigot. Anchor then mildly lambasts the Labour man for sometimes “pandering” to the tabloids. Finally, consensus is reached between the Beeb, Labour and Liberal that immigration is a thoroughly good thing which only racists and “nasty party” types could question.

Memo From Mexico
During this exciting and unpredictable political season, there is a political convention scheduled for September 30th, in Los Angeles, California.
It’s not the Democratic Party, nor the Republican Party. Nor is it the Libertarian Party, the Green Party or the Constitution Party. It’s not even the Labor Party, the Marijuana Party or the Socialist Alternative Party.
No, the party holding its convention on that date is the PAN—the Partido Acción Nacional, the National Action Party of…Mexico. (It’s the party of Felipe Calderon and Vicente Fox).
Now this is not an ordinary PAN convention, as they would hold here in Mexico. No, this is a convention specifically designed for Mexican PANistas living in the U.S.A.—some of whom are American citizens!
What’s going on here?
What’s going on is that the political worlds of the U.S. and Mexico are becoming more and more intertwined. Without debate, the U.S is marrying Mexico—or, perhaps more accurately, Mexico is marrying us. With the growth of dual citizenship, and our failure to plug our anchor baby loophole, we can expect more and more of this.

The Jena Six
Here we go again. Another racial incident packaged especially so that the unbiased, non partisans that work in the hallowed halls of journalism can show whites in the United States how racist we all are.
Of course the journalists themselves, college professors, students who vote left wing and other white liberals are excluded from the charge of “racism”.
Enter Jena Louisiana which from what I understand is the backwoods. I guess (bear in mind that since left wing bloggers have gotten involved with their hysteria, getting any details of the case is near impossible) that there was a tree at Jena High School that traditionally only whites were allowed to sit under. A group of black students last fall asked administrators if they too could also sit under the tree. School Admin told them they could sit anywhere they wanted and these students did just that.
The next day, three nooses in school colors appeared hanging from the tree - apparently one for each black student that sat there.
There can be no denying that this was an attempt to intimidate and bully each other. The students responsible were found and suspended for a few days.
But the black community in Jena was still outraged. This punishment wasn’t enough. They wanted these students arrested for “hate speech” I guess. (If you haven’t noticed, students have the freedom to say/print anything they want to as long as it falls within liberal PC parameters.)

Police chief fears migrant impact
Julie Spence of Cambridgeshire Police says a dramatic change in the make-up of the population in the county had meant new challenges for her officers.
For example, in the space of one year, drink-drive figures showed a 17-fold rise in arrests of foreigners.
Since 2004, 83,000 East Europeans have registered to work in Eastern England.
The Home Office said it has launched a forum to gauge concerns around the UK about the impact of migrants but cautioned against singling out one section of society and blaming it for crime.
Figures compiled for the Cambridgeshire police force predict immigration will continue to have a greater impact on population growth than “natural” change.

Racial divisions are growing in Britain, watchdog warns
Britain is becoming increasingly segregated along racial lines and Whitehall departments are doing little to meet their duties to tackle discrimination, a new report has found.
In its final study before being wound up, the Commission for Racial Equality will declare tomorrow that the country is more divided than ever.
The CRE’s document, A Lot Done, A Lot To Do, Our Vision For An Integrated Britain, says that segregation - “residentially, socially and in the workplace” - is growing and extremism, both political and religious, is on the rise as people become increasingly disillusioned and disconnected from each other.
But the watchdog, which will be replaced by the new Commission for Equality and Human Rights in two weeks, also castigated ministers for failing to meet their own duties.
Fifteen government departments and agencies, including Whitehall’s biggest spenders, face the threat of legal action for failing to carry out their obligations under race equality legislation.

BNP website is the most popular in politics
A website run by the far right British National Party is the most visited website of any UK political party, with more hits than all other parties put together, a survey has found.
Hitwise, the online competitive intelligence service, said that more than seven times as many visitors click on to the BNP’s site as for the Labour Party and almost three times as many as for the Conservatives.
The study of over eight million internet accounts found that people who struggle to hold down a rewarding or well paying job, and rely on state benefits and the council for their accommodation were most likely to visit the site.
However, nearly a quarter of the site’s visitors are people who have successfully established themselves and their families in comfortable suburban homes.
Young and well educated city dwellers are also over-represented amongst visitors to the BNP’s homepage.
