One in 10 British nationals now lives abroad, with Australia and Spain the two favourite destinations, a study has found. Last year, nearly 200,000 moved overseas to settle — the equivalent of one every three minutes — bringing the total number to more than 5.5 million.

Another one million are set to pack their bags for good over the next five years and a further 500,000 live abroad for part of the year — either because they work in other countries or have second homes.

The research from the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) shows that the British are the most footloose people in the world. Not only do more British live abroad than any other nationality, they are also more spread out.

There are 41 countries with more than 10,000 British living there and another 71 countries with more than 1,000. The levels of emigration are now back to those last seen in the late-1950s and early 1960s, when the ”ten pound Poms” left in their droves for Australia, enticed by subsidised travel and settle-ment.

WASHINGTON, The solution to the extreme psychic distress suffered by so many college women, is not the commonly prescribed anti-depressants Zoloft or Paxil, but sexual continence and religious faith, says a college psychiatrist in her recently published anonymous memoir.

In “Unprotected: A Campus Psychiatrist Reveals How Political Correctness in Her Profession Endangers Every Student,” “Dr. Anonymous” wrote that the endemic problems mystifying educators and health professionals, are caused by the politically correct approval of rampant sexual promiscuity that characterizes college life. The book was released this week by Sentinel, a division of Penguin Group (USA) Inc.

Young women in college in the US and Canada suffer from an epidemic of depression, eating disorders and even self-mutilation and suicidal thoughts and behavior. Campus health professionals, steeped in the politically correct doctrines of sexual “freedom” and feminist theory, fail even to acknowledge the existence of the real cause.

Dr. Anonymous, who chose to keep her identity secret out of fear of professional reprisal, identifies the damage done to women by the feminist ideology that proposes women are psychologically identical to men and encourages sexual promiscuity – as long as it is made “safe” with a condom.

She told Dr. Warren Throckmorton in an interview that she “feels very much at risk.”

“I’m discussing a taboo topic here: the dangers of radical social agendas in my profession… Campus counselling centers are whitewashing the painful consequences of casual sex, STDs and abortion. They are promoting the notion that men and women are the same.”

This might have dropped below the radar, but Al Qaida and its allies are literally battling the Crusaders every day in Europe. And so far, Europe isn’t doing so well.

“We are in a state of civil war, orchestrated by radical Islamists,” said Michel Thoomis, secretary general of the Action Police trade union. “This is not a question of urban violence any more. It is an intifada, with stones and firebombs.”

The French Interior Ministry has acknowledged the Muslim uprising. The ministry said more than 2,500 police officers have been injured in 2006. This amounts to at least 14 officers each day.

The battles have been under-reported but alarming to French authorities. Muslim street commanders, who run lucrative drug networks, have organized youngsters in housing projects to ambush police and confront security forces. The response time allows hundreds of Muslims to storm police cars and patrols within minutes.

“You no longer see two or three youths confronting police,” Thoomis said. “You see whole tower blocks emptying into the streets to set their comrades free when they are arrested.”

Race relations in America have taken center stage, and once again the fault lines have been highlighted as a predominantly black-and-white affair.

That old paradigm might provide a comfortably familiar dynamic for activists, elected officials and the media to play off, but it conceals the new reality — and the danger — of the deepening racial polarization on America’s streets.

And some of the most stridently racial rhetoric these days is not being heard from blacks or whites but rather from Latinos.

From street activists to students to professionals, Latinos are stoking ethnic anger as they pander to crowds with blatant stereotypes and use racially charged language to motivate their supporters — and they are doing so with virtual impunity.

At an October protest in Escondido, Calif., organizer Fernando Suarez de Solar of a group called Aztec Warriors for Peace whipped a crowd of illegal immigrants into a frenzy outside City Hall after the council passed an ordinance that requires landlords to verify the legal residency of their tenants.

“Do not allow yourselves to be intimidated by any blue-eyed ‘whitey’ that comes to your house and asks you for ‘papers,’” de Solar shouted in Spanish. Moments later, when he was giving me an English translation of what he had just told the crowd, he forgot to include the reference to “blue-eyed whitey,” perhaps in deference to my green eyes.

HARTFORD, Conn. — James F. Jones Jr. had been president of Trinity College for two years before a black student pointed out to him that he always ate lunch on the side of the dining hall where white students gather.

Since that day last month, Mr. Jones, who is white, has made a point of taking a table on the other side, with the minority students.

He also bought the book “Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?” for his office, and recently handed out 45 copies to the college’s trustees and senior administrators as “required reading.”

“I didn’t even know I was eating on the white side,” Mr. Jones said.

Trinity officials, professors and students have been forced to reexamine their daily interactions with one another this semester after a series of racially polarizing events that have drawn widespread complaints from minorities over what they see as a climate of incivility and intolerance within their privileged campus of Gothic spires.

From classrooms to hip-hop concerts, the angry dialogue has led to some student protests and focused an unusual level of scrutiny on the college’s practices and policies.

The Danish authorities were clearing up yesterday after Copenhagen’s customary calm was broken by riots which forced police to fire tear gas and arrest 300 people after a weekend demonstration.

Trouble flared when 1,000 protesters gathered in the capital to protest plans to evict a group of young people from a city centre building. The graffiti-covered youth centre is to be handed over to a Christian congregation that bought it five years ago.

Police said they had detained “200 to 300″ demonstrators in the worst outbreak of unrest seen in Copenhagen for years. Flemming Steen Munch, spokesman for the police, said: “It was extremely violent. It looked like a war zone and it’s been many years since we last had to use tear gas on the streets.”

Witnesses said cobblestones and fireworks were thrown at the security forces and at least one demonstrator had suffered respiratory problems after tear gas was fired. Police split the main body of demonstrators into several smaller groups, using armoured vehicles. But demonstrators then took their violent protest to the city centre, smashing shop windows and leaving a trail of destruction. The Jyllandsposten newspaper reported that one demonstrator was found unconscious and two police officers had been taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

On Wednesday, a Boone County, Ky., judge sentenced an illegal Honduran immigrant to 30 years in prison for raping a 9-year-old girl.

In court, defendant Angel Juarez went on a tirade about his innocence and suggested he was singled out because of his ethnicity.

He also admonished the United States and the government, incoming Covington City Commission Member Steve Megerle said.

It was a good example of the disrespect illegal aliens have for this country, Megerle said.

When he takes office in January, Megerle plans to push for a Covington city ordinance that would address the problem of illegal immigrants.

He wants to see employers who knowingly employ illegals and landlords who knowingly rent to them lose their licenses to do business in the city.

At a meeting earlier this week, the commission gave first reading to an ordinance that would make that happen.

The ordinance would also make knowingly hiring or renting to an illegal a Class B misdemeanor, punishable by 90 days in jail and a $250 fine.

- Labour’s standing is so low that the party’s only hope of recovering may be to abandon Mr Brown and ‘move to a new generation’ by picking a much younger new leader - though it warns of the perils of being ‘disloyal’ to the ‘greatly respected’ Chancellor.

- The public believes the party is riven by ‘internal conflicts’ and shows a ‘lack of grip and competence on key issues’ such as Iraq, the NHS and immigration.

- People who voted Labour at the last Election ‘are moving across’ to the Conservatives and Labour is floundering ‘on every major issue’.

- Mr Blair faces a ’s*** or bust’ decision on how to stop the rot.

The leak came as a vicious new war of words flared between the rival Blair and Brown camps over where blame for the cash-for-peerages scandal lies.

An ex-Army intelligence officer recently said to me, “An invasion is taking place. Whether by means of legal or illegal immigration, the third-world hordes are invading the first world, and they are taking no prisoners. If this is not stopped now, America within one generation will be a third-world sewer.” But what is being done? O Tempora! O Mores!

I was at the airport recently in Los Angeles, and I could overhear the conversation of some younger Indians waiting for a flight from India. These youths were obviously raised in America, as they did not have accents, unlike their parents sitting next to them. The Indian youth, after debating their favorite rappers, began to discuss how recent DNA studies show that Indians are closely related to Sub-Saharan Africans. They then began to speak approvingly of India invading California, and went on to say that they should “wipe out all the whites.” Now, the parents, seeing that I was listening, lightly admonished the youth, not really because of what they said, but only because others could hear.

This is now the norm across America and Europe. Invaders from the Orient, Asia, Africa, Central and South America are invading the first world, and they are intent only upon conquest. Each day invaders from Mexico pour into the Southwest. And they have the support of corporate backers and politicians too.

The Wall Street criminals, big business, and some politicians do not care about the United States as a historical entity, but only about the aggregate GDP, even if it means the dissolution of the US as a country. And as the aggregate GDP goes up, the per capita medium GDP goes down. Average Americans are making less now (adjusted for inflation) than they did in the 1970s – largely due to legal and illegal immigration increases. Large corporations have betrayed the United States, have sided with the third-world invaders, and thus have sided against Middle America.

La Raza, which supports increased immigration and has the open support of Wal-Mart and many politicians, has openly called for the extermination of the white race. Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez, founder of La Raza, has proudly said: “We have an aging white America…. They are dying…. They are ******** in their pants with fear! I love it!” He then demands: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him.”

GREELEY, Colo. - Five men and women in orange jumpsuits and handcuffs were taken to court on identity theft charges Thursday as state and federal officials began the process of charging or deporting nearly 1,300 people arrested in a sweeping six-state immigration raid.

Aid workers braced for a flood of requests for help from families whose wage-earners were arrested.

Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 1,282 people in raids on Swift & Co. meat processing plants in Greeley and in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas and Utah Tuesday. About 5 percent face charges of buying or stealing other people’s identities to get documents they needed so they could get jobs, ICE said. Officials said that number could grow.

Suspects facing only immigration charges were in federal custody awaiting hearings to determine whether they should be deported, said ICE spokesman Richard Rocha in Washington. He did not know when those hearings would occur.

Those facing other criminal charges will likely be moved to states where the crimes allegedly occurred, he said. None of the arrests in Minnesota were for identity theft cases.

About 80 identity-theft cases in Utah and Colorado had been turned over to state authorities for prosecution. Rocha said he had no information on those cases and could not comment on the reasons they were transferred.

The five who appeared in Weld County District Court Thursday were being held for investigation of forgery and criminal impersonation. A judge set bail at $30,000 each and gave prosecutors until Monday to formally file charges.

Prosecutors said one was using the identity of a North Carolina man who died in 2005 and the others were using the names of three women and one man in Texas.
